I played the battle to the death, then decided to play the match-up. The game accepted my willingness to play but did not connect to the server. I tried to restart but it banned me for several hours. I reset the game settings and checked the cache. I was able to play matchmaking. But the next day I was banned again due to the inability to connect to the server after 30 attempts, as stated in the message. This happens randomly. I can not track the relationship of why this happens.

Now I was able to play normal mode full game without errors in the «normal» mode. I tried to play in matchmaking mode, but again got a ban for 23 hours =) because I could not connect to the server. For the time being, I will stop playing so as not to spoil my statistics =)

It probably depends on the servers. So I don’t know yet.

Update:

After disabling ipv6 support and restarting the game, I was able to play. I’m not sure what exactly this solved the problem or whether it solved the problem indirectly. But fact is fact.

For example network manager (just becouse simple way)

After that, such logs stopped appearing in the game console

I’m not 100% sure, but if it is ipv6, then how do I disable this support in the game? I do not want to touch the system settings for the game

Update:
I checked several times this is really connected with ipv6.

The fact is that I get an ipv6 address but through it I do not have access to the Internet. Apparently the game, if there is ipv6, tries to connect through it and since it does not work out, it gives an error message.

These are my assumptions of course I did not dump traffic. But it just works =)

I guess I was still wrong. Now my ipv6 is disabled. But again I can’t play, the same mistake. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this at least temporarily?

After reinstalling the game, I first adjust the network settings, then start the game and connect to the game in casual mode

I checked it twice and it is reproducible.

To be sure, I started the casual mode, waited for confirmation, and on the game and the boot screen, then I quickly turned off the network, set the value to «ipv6.method» ignore «» turned on the network again and got a repeating console

Then I quickly turned off the network again, set the value «ipv6.method» auto «», turned on the network, and the connection to the server was restored. The game was loaded and I was able to play.

Although this is a little different from what I did above #2310 (comment) but there were probably updates that changed the behavior I don’t know

So now I am sure that the problem was this, since it is reproducible.

By default, ipv6 is in “auto” mode for everyone, so this problem probably only concerns me and my settings.

The problem reappeared, and I cannot solve it in the previous way. Rather, something strange happens, this is clearly a bug.

Как исправить ошибку connection failed after 30 retries в кс го

Some of us experience message from picture. After google it, try find fix, and ask community for help, much effort was needed to fix, and almost nothing works.

Situation 2: Player cant go online with game, try connecting to any server and got message Connection failed after 10 retries. Player may open web browser, download data etc.

In that situation, stuff which one don’t help, and others try recommended are:

— verify integrity of game cache
— restart game, PC or steam
-reinstall game
— playing with options of firewall and antivirus

Player is connected to server where play trough port of IP address. In some situation, port may become bugged, and not response. Port looks like occupied in side of client or server, and is not available.
What is port? Port is one string between your PC (client) and server. One port may be used for mail incoming, other for mail outgoing, second for mozilla, other for one online game one server, like lot of nets.
For other people on server, you look like you are frozen, and leave game. Other players dont have any issues, only you.

When you try connect, fail is because port dont have propper information of last disconnection, and think is allready connected, and cant connect again. How long you have same IP, and use same port, that bugged information stay and prevent from connectin to server.

problem is not in your PC, game or something else, it is issue from ISP ( internet service provider) and fix for that is easy.

Here is 2 solutions for this issue:

2) wait couple days to problem solve by itself. How this is possible? Easy: provider reset every couple days your IP to prevent problems, and after ( regular in some countries is 3 days) some time u will get new IP.

3) Player may change gaming port manually.

step 1: open steam, library, right click on left4dead2, select properties

By default may be using port 27005 ( that is maybe your bugged port ) so must change it to another one that works.

examples: +clientport 27027 +clientport 27019 +clientport 27031 +clientport 27008 etc.

Edit#4 : for people who use static IP (in some countries need pay extra for it) is hard to fix, so i suggest to try play from same router with other machine ( laptop, other pc etc).

edit#5 : Delete Helms deep reborn custom map from workshop subscriptions, because map change UI, removing some menu items. If removing not help, use guide to FIX that using this steam guide:

Edit#6 : the Last Stand major update dont have anything with that error because way of connection to game is same as before
